NATIONAL JUNIOR BASKETBALL
COACH CERTIFICATION PROCEDURE

FOR DIVISIONAL PLAY

Any person wishing to coach a team at any level in National Junior Basketball
must complete the following certification process.

  1. All coaches and assistant coaches must be approved by their local NJB Board of directors.
  2. All coaches and assistant coaches must complete the coach's registration on their chapter's D4 web site.
  3. All NJB head coaches and assistant coaches must be fingerprinted with NJB. If your name appears on the official NJB fingerprint list posted on the NJB web site you have cleared the fingerprint portion of certification. If your name is not on the list you must get fingerprinted at one of the locations posted on the NJB web site. (You will be allowed to coach your team pending your fingerprint results if you turn in your fingerprint form)
  4. All head coaches must attend a NJB coach's clinic. Three levels will be offered this year.
    Level 1-All Net coaches
Level 2-Division 1 coaches and experienced Division 2 coaches
Level 3-Division 3 coaches and new Division 2 coaches
  5. After completing steps 1-4, each head coach will need to turn in their fingerprint form and their coach's clinic certificate to their chapter director.
  6. After completing steps 1-3, each assistant coach will  need to turn in their fingerprint form to the chapter director.

When all steps are completed and your fingerprint results are listed on the NJB web site you will be
completely certified to coach in National Junior Basketball.

**** Rookie league and High School coaches do not have to complete a coaches' Clinic.
